The Missing Piece
LeTourneau & Associates, LLC was formed in 1999 by Pam LeTourneau, Speech Language Pathologist, in Dallas, Texas. After completing her Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas and gaining experience in a variety of settings - including local school districts, hospitals and home health agencies - she envisioned forming a team of speech pathologists who would work collaboratively and cooperatively to meet the many therapy staffing needs she witnessed in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The company began with just one additional speech therapist, but quickly grew, adding men and women who met the high standards she set for being an “Associate” - therapists who shared her passion for excellence not only in quality therapy delivery but also in integrity, professionalism and passion for serving others.
This quest for quality associates led the company, in 2001, to expand beyond offering strictly speech therapy services, adding physical and occupational therapists to the staff. In the last decade additional disciplines have been added – Educational Diagnosticians, School Psychologists, and Special Education Counselors.
The Right Match
Based on the interests and expertise of the associates who have joined us, the company has continued to pursue staffing opportunities in a variety of settings, but has primarily focused on the needs of local school districts in the communities in our area.
Although the company has grown in both revenue and staff size nearly every year since its inception, we remain a small to mid-size, local company. Unlike larger, national staffing agencies, our company’s history and experience is exclusively focused in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. We believe this offers us an in-depth and comprehensive insight into the needs of the districts we serve. We are not a recruiting firm simply attracting any number of qualified candidates we can sign to our pool of therapists. It is more personal than that. We seek out and hire those professionals who not only have the professional credentials and experience required, but have also demonstrated the kind of exceptional integrity, work ethic and compassion for people – people we are proud to work alongside as friends and colleagues.
Completing the Picture
While we do continue to serve in a variety of other settings as well, such as home health and private speech therapy services, our primary focus is in the setting where it all began for our owner - local school districts. What began as one small contract with Irving ISD in 1999, has grown to include staffing hundreds of special educational professionals in nearly 25 districts across North Central Texas. We look forward to the path ahead as we continue our mission to provide the highest quality services to the people in the communities where we live, work and play.
